Antimundas

"Antimundas", pencil, by Anthony Auld. Traditionally with Surrealist works of art the title of a piece of art was an important part of the work. Knowing the title can give you a deeper understanding of the work, opening another diamension giving you a deeper understanding of meanings a symbols used in the work. As a Cybersurrealist I have carried on this tradition in my work. Antimundas is Latin the English translation: " Existing or occuring before the creation of the Universe". Of course without the title the viewer can still enjoy the artwork bringing their own meanings and experiences to the work. As with Antimundas you can look at the drawing and possibly see cybernetic lifeforms from science fiction, one lifeform attached to the other in some kind of symbiotic relationship the larger form in an Egyptionesk pose with a planet balancing on his/hers right arm, in futuristic terms we call a combination of the sexes as SHe an combining of the two words. The smaller anthropomorhpic lifeform which seems to be emerging from a cocoon type shell has feathered wings and a human like head. This brings us to one of the Surrealists and therefore Cybersurrealist's main methods of communication Metamorphosis: (lifeforms changing from one form to another, human forms changing into animal forms then into nature and back again.

Anyway back to knowing the title "Antimundas" now and the translation this can giving you a new understanding. Perhaps now the drawing has references to creation and religious connotations. Pherhaps this creature created the universe, was a planet maker a star maker.

Or maybe it is just a groovey piece of science fiction art, X files yer yer.

Greetings, fellow Humans,Welcome to Creation Test laboratories CTL

At Creation test Laboratories or CTL we treat every creation as a test and we like to test our creations under laboratory conditions. This means every item u will view or acquire from CTL has been through a prototyping process whether the object is jewellery, sculpture, wearable / non-wearable or fashion.

At this present point in time the objects u will be viewing have been created from concept to design through to production by our Chief Creator AJTA. Soon these objects will be available in Second Life by contacting our Chief Virtual Creator/Manager Farstar Enoch.
